This is Frank’s story:
Polycystic kidney disease. I suffer from it, and as a result 3 days a week I am on dialysis. 4 hours a day away from my young daughters and my wife. I have type O positive blood. The ideal donor is healthy and only type O positive or type O negative blood. My insurance will cover the donor from the blood test to the transplant. Our family will pay for housing, travel and food as well.
I live in Brewster, NY. I am a volunteer firefighter since 9/11 and I own a business that belonged to my late father. My great-grandmother, my grandfather, aunt and uncle did not have a chance for a transplant; they died before dialysis was even thought of. My mom and aunt have had transplants. My sister is in need too.
I want to coach my big girls little league team, go to the father-daughter dances and not worry that I can’t do it because I am limited by dialysis. I am in my early 40s and want desperately to do everything with my family. I hope by reading this, you make the choice to have your blood checked.
My step-father donated his kidney to my mom; he was out of the hospital in 1 day. He had laparoscopic surgery with a small scar. He was back to work in 6 weeks. He is doing great 17 years later.
I cannot thank you enough for reading this and maybe taking the next step to be tested. More important, my 14 year old and 10 year old daughters and my beautiful wife say thank you.
My coordinator at Westchester Medical Center is Angie. She can be reached at 914-493-7864. Please tell her you are calling about me as a possible donor. Please use my name, Frank Felice. She will guide you on what to do, answer questions, etc. Again, thank you.

In late 2019 Frank was interviewed on CBS-News

Please share so Frank can go back to living a healthy life with his family.
